12.08.2025

The ST*R Partnership Practice Model reflects the ambition of all practitioners and leaders to work consistently with families across the Sandwell workforce, sharing the same practice values, principles, and standards.

Professionals Guide:
The Professional’s Guide is a comprehensive overview designed to help you navigate and understand what it means to be a ST*R practitioner. It offers clear insight into the three key principles and six core elements of the ST*R approach, along with practical ways to apply them in your everyday practice.

Reflective Practice Cards:
The ST*R Reflective Cards are a practical tool designed to support professionals and team members with quick, daily reflection. They help ensure that individuals are consistently practicing STAR values in their interactions with children, families, colleagues, and partnership teams.

Children’s Guide:
The Children’s ST*R Guide is a fun and interactive action guide, created by Sandwell children for Sandwell children. Through engaging short stories and activities, this guide helps children explore what it means to be treated like a ST*R—and encourages them to think critically about the people in their lives who show them ST*R qualities.

Parents and Carers:
The Parents and Carers Guide to ST*R has been written by Sandwell parents for all parents, carers, and families. It offers insights into what ST*R means to them and explores how families can work together with practitioners to bring out the best in themselves and their children.
