Decca provide the Young People's (YP) drug and alcohol service in Sandwell (up to the age of 18). The team use a structured psycho-social approach in engaging with identified young people with an emphasis on holistic working. The Team work on a one-to-one-basis with the YP, assessing their needs and jointly devising a Care plan so that the YP has obtainable goals and milestones. Education is also provided so that the YP becomes fully informed about the choices they are currently making and enables them to make better choices. With the YP’s agreement, the Treatment Worker can make referrals to services such as CAMHS (Mental Health support) and Horizons (Exploitation) or to charities that offer this type of support where thresholds are not met.
