The Parents, Advocacy, Guidance & Empowerment (PAGE) project offers a range of seamless services for both single parents and couples faced with Children’s Services intervention across the continuum from Early Help Assessment through to court proceedings using a bilateral model of support that includes provision of Independent Advocacy and Independent Living Skills training. The project will provide support for parents with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism along each step of the process including: The Early Help process. Where there is an agreed Child in Need plan. Where matters have been escalated to a child protection plan and subject to a Section 47 enquiry. Where matters have progressed to court proceedings. Where a child or children have been removed and are subject to interim care orders. Referrals into this project will be received from Early Help teams, children’s social workers, solicitors, third parties and parents themselves.

Access Criteria:
• All referrals must be resident in Sandwell and be a person with a learning disability or autism and:
Are part of the Early Help process.
There is an agreed Child in Need plan.
Where matters have been escalated to a child protection plan and subject to a Section 47 enquiry.
Where a child or children have been removed and are subject to interim care orders.
Where Children are at risk of care proceedings and/or
The parents are subject to a parent’s assessment (PAMS) where there are child protection concerns.
• All PAGE referrals must have a specific and identified advocacy issue and/or an independent living skills need.
• To be eligible to access the PAGE independent living skills support referrals must require greater intervention than that currently offered by existing providers and/or Children’s Centres. The PAGE project will not duplicate parenting support services that already exist to which referrals can be signposted.
