There are two courses available:
Course 1 - Gang Awareness – Know the Signs: Catch 22 are providing professionals with CPD certified training to understand and be more aware of gang culture and associated behaviours. Please see below list of topics covered in this session:
- gang culture, serious youth violence and
associated behaviours
- gang activity within the community
- how to recognise key warning signs
- the victim/offender overlap
- child criminal exploitation (CCE) and County Lines
- the stages of grooming and exploitation (using an
interactive case study)
- the link between adverse childhood experiences
(ACEs), later vulnerabilities, and exploitation
- how an understanding of choice and opportunity
informs intervention
- how to successfully engage service users
- strategies to safeguard and manage associated risk
Course 2 - Understanding Violence in Young People: Catch 22 are providing professionals with CPD certified training to understand violence in young people, its impacts, and how to facilitate conversations around it. Please see below list of topics covered in this session:
- what violence is, why and how it occurs,
- how trauma (ACEs/PTSD) can impact behaviour,
- how exploitation and gang affiliation can
increase violence or aggression,
- the national aims that impact ways of working,
- additional and external resources to facilitate
conversations with young people,
- an overview of lone working procedures,
- strategies to safeguard and manage associated
risks.
